OVERVIEW
The purpose of this course is to help students interested in learning more about Data Science get their start in the field. This course is introductory, primarily intended to establish a foothold in the field on data science and learn the power of data.
Students who successfully complete this course will:

Have an understanding of what Data Science is

Be able to plot the extracted data in different kinds of graphs and plots

Be able to extract specific data from a given dataset

Have a basic understanding of Python and Jupyter Notebook

Be given members points per session attended (5pts per session)
TARGET AUDIENCE
All members with a technical and non-technical background are welcome. This course does not require any technical/STEM background and welcomes any member interested in getting his or her start in data science.
COURSE SCHEDULE - MEETING DATES, TIMES, AND LOCATIONS COMING SOON
Class 1: Course Overview, Introduction to Data Science, Downloading required Software
Class 2: Basics of Python programming language, Introduction to NumPy and Pandas
Class 3: Use NumPy and Pandas to extract information from different datasets
Class 4: Introduction to Regression plots and plotting them in Matplotlib and Seaborn
Class 5: Interactive and Geographical Plotting using Plotly, Cufflinks and Chloropleth maps
Class 6 (Optional): Revision of different Python Libraries and Plots
Class 7: Final Exam

MICRO-CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
