WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
1. PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES (TECHNICAL + NON-TECHNICAL)
RISA offers plenty of opportunities in technical and non-technical cross-functional projects and leadership roles. Whether it is conducting a technical reverse engineering research in malware to overseeing the marketing committee, RISA is open to all skill-sets that our members bring to the organization and highly encourages all majors to apply, as the members have the freedom of choosing an existing committee or forming their own committee. No technology background is required. RISA serves all 40,000 students.
At RISA, our members drive the organization.
Let us know what your interest and background is, and we will help you find others with similar minds to form your own committee, dedicating your time and membership to a project of your interest. Interested in working with high school students? Collaborate with our technical members to organize a hackathon event at the local high schools. Do you have a passion for social media? Join RISA's Multimedia Marketing committee to get some hands-on experience. At RISA, the sky is your limit.
We are currently working with respected technical and non-technical professionals in the technology industry to bring valuable exclusive resources to the members of RISA. Through cross-functional projects with members from other areas of study and interactions with industry experts, you will be able to:
Expand your resume with meaningful project experience, training, and accomplished metrics
Engage in diverse cross-functional teams
Gain leadership opportunities
Network with successful students and professionals through professional and social events
Develop people skills
RISA believes in rewarding members who get involved. Our dues are $15 per semester, however, you can earn membership points towards your future dues by coming out to the events, getting involved in a committee, doing community service, etc. RISA believes that organization dues could be a burden to the students and that no student should ever be limited in his or her ability to be successful because of financial burdens.
Please fill out the membership form below (takes only a few seconds) and feel free to reach out to us for questions by clicking here.
A background in STEM is not a membership requirement. RISA serves all 40,000 students of TTU, including graduate students (many of our members are pursuing graduate degrees).
Students with Disabilities: RISA is committed to serving all students of TTU. If you are in need of a special aid or assistance for your activities and involvement within RISA, please reach out to the Chief Executive Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will work with Student Disability Services to provide reasonable accommodations.
We look forward to meeting you!
